Description
Teac UD-507 USB DAC/Preamplifier/Headphone Amplifier
The Teac UD-507 combines a USB DAC, an analog preamplifier and a headphone amplifier in a single unit. It handles DSD up to 22.5 MHz and PCM up to 384 kHz/32 bit and includes an MQA Full Decoder.
D/A Conversion
The proprietary TEAC Reference Discrete DAC (TRDD 5) processes incoming digital signals at 64 bit/512 Fs via a delta-sigma modulator in the FPGA and converts them to analog through 16 elements per channel. DSD signals are processed directly, while PCM signals are first converted to a 1-bit signal. Two operating modes can be selected: multi-bit delta-sigma method or 1-bit delta-sigma method.
Clock and USB Transfer
- Internal clocks for the 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz series with low-phase-noise crystal oscillators
- External 10 MHz clock input (BNC)
- USB Asynchronous Transfer Method to synchronize with the internal crystal oscillator
- Bulk Pet USB transfer technology with four preset transfer modes
Construction
- Dual-mono design with separate L/R channels throughout the analog output section
- Fully balanced signal transmission from the D/A converter to the output stage
- Two toroidal core transformers, one each for the analog and digital boards
- Feedback-free circuit in the analog power supply section
- Floating-mounted transformer, Stressless Feet v2 and a 2.8 mm thick top plate for vibration control
Preamplifier and Inputs
- Analog volume control via TEAC-QVCS (Quad Volume Control System) in 0.5 dB steps
- TEAC-HCLD2 enhanced-current output buffer circuits
- 2 digital inputs coaxial and optical, 2 line inputs (RCA and XLR)
Headphone Amplifier
The dedicated headphone amplifier uses four diamond buffer circuits and allows connection of balanced headphones. It supports headphones up to 600 ohms. Switchable between balanced and active-ground operation. Outputs: 4.4 mm Pentaconn jack, 6.3 mm jack and 4-pin XLR.
Further Functions
- MQA Full Decoder, also for digital inputs (e.g. MQA CD via CD player)
- Up-sampling via RDOT-NEO by 2x, 4x or 8x, up to a maximum of 384 kHz
- Bluetooth receiver (version 4.2) with LDAC, LHDC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC, plus multipoint connection
- Teac HR Audio Player for Windows and Mac (free of charge)
Connections and Outputs
- Digital inputs: coaxial, optical/Toslink, BNC (10 MHz), USB-B, USB-C
- Analog inputs: RCA, XLR
- Analog outputs: RCA (max. 2 Vrms), XLR (max. 2 Vrms at 0 dB, 4 Vrms at +6 dB)

Safety information
Safety information — Audio Everywhere
These notes apply to all HiFi devices and accessories sold by us.
Electronic devices (amplifiers, streamers, CD players, turntables)
Operate only in dry, enclosed indoor spaces. Avoid moisture, direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use only the specified mains voltage — do not overload power strips. Do not switch on devices with damaged cables or housings. Keep ventilation slots clear: at least 10 cm distance from walls and other devices. Place stably and securely — no open liquid containers nearby. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Speakers
Place on a stable surface or suitable stands. No moisture, no direct sunlight. Operate only with matching amplifiers and correctly polarised cables. Do not use as a storage surface. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Cables (speaker cables, RCA, power cables)
Use only for the intended purpose. Always pull by the plug, never by the cable. Avoid kinks, sharp edges and pressure from heavy objects. Replace visibly damaged cables immediately. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Accessories (adapters, mounts, cleaning agents, styli, headshells)
Use only according to the manufacturer's instructions. No aggressive cleaning agents, no damp environments. Store small parts safely due to choking hazard. Mount accessories correctly to avoid damage or malfunction.
General notes
Read the operating instructions before use. No unauthorised repairs or opening of devices. Always contact a specialist service for technical problems. We are happy to answer any questions about safe use at any time.
