Compact, elegant and powerful: the Audiolab D7 is a modern digital-to-analog converter that brings the DNA of the legendary M-DAC into a new and refined format. With high-end converter technology, extensive connectivity and full MQA decoding, it provides everything demanding digital sources need – delivered with Audiolab’s signature sound quality.

Digital excellence in a compact format

The D7 is built around the advanced ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip and supports PCM up to 768 kHz / 32-bit and DSD up to DSD512 via USB-B. Thanks to advanced jitter suppression and precise clocking, it delivers exceptional clarity, dynamics and natural musicality.
Through the coaxial and optical inputs, the D7 processes PCM up to 192 kHz, while USB storage devices are supported up to 96 kHz.

Extensive connectivity for every digital source

Whether CD transport, streamer or computer – the D7 offers the right input for every requirement:
2 × coaxial, 2 × optical, 1 × USB-B (for PC/Mac), 1 × USB-A (for storage devices), plus Bluetooth 5.1 with aptX and aptX HD.
Output options include RCA, balanced XLR, coaxial, optical and a high-quality headphone output. Two 12V trigger outputs allow seamless integration into more complex systems.

Full MQA decoding

The Audiolab D7 performs full hardware MQA decoding, including all three unfold stages directly within the device. This ensures that Tidal Masters and other MQA content can be played back at their full sonic potential.

Filters, upsampling and personalised tuning

Five selectable digital filters and optional upsampling to 352.8 or 384 kHz provide fine control over the sonic character. This allows the D7 to be optimally tuned to the source, music genre or the listener’s personal preferences.

Audiophile headphone performance

A high-quality headphone output with current-feedback amplifier topology makes the D7 a fully capable head-fi component. Whether low-impedance or high-impedance headphones, the D7 drives them with authority, precision and excellent detail retrieval.

Technical excellence in an elegant chassis

A robust aluminium housing, bright OLED display and intuitive operation via front-panel buttons or remote control complete the package. Visually matched to the Audiolab 6000 and 7000 series, the D7 fits seamlessly into any existing system.

Electronic devices (amplifiers, streamers, CD players, turntables)

Operate only in dry, enclosed indoor spaces. Avoid moisture, direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use only the specified mains voltage — do not overload power strips. Do not switch on devices with damaged cables or housings. Keep ventilation slots clear: at least 10 cm distance from walls and other devices. Place stably and securely — no open liquid containers nearby. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Speakers

Place on a stable surface or suitable stands. No moisture, no direct sunlight. Operate only with matching amplifiers and correctly polarised cables. Do not use as a storage surface. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Cables (speaker cables, RCA, power cables)

Use only for the intended purpose. Always pull by the plug, never by the cable. Avoid kinks, sharp edges and pressure from heavy objects. Replace visibly damaged cables immediately. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Accessories (adapters, mounts, cleaning agents, styli, headshells)

Use only according to the manufacturer's instructions. No aggressive cleaning agents, no damp environments. Store small parts safely due to choking hazard. Mount accessories correctly to avoid damage or malfunction.

Taxes and pricing according to German VAT law (UStG)

Consumers in Germany and the EU

All prices include the applicable VAT according to § 1 para. 1 in conjunction with § 12 UStG. Taxation within the EU follows the One-Stop-Shop procedure under § 18j UStG. The VAT rate of the respective destination country applies.
