The Wall ist das elfte Studioalbum der englischen Rockband Pink Floyd und zählt zu den meistgelobten Konzeptalben aller Zeiten. Bekannt als Roger Waters’ Rockoper, behandelt das Werk Themen wie Verlassenwerden und persönliche Isolation. Mit dem markanten Artwork von Gerald Scarfe enthält das Album die Singles „Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)“, eine Nummer 1 in Großbritannien und den USA, sowie „Run Like Hell“ und „Comfortably Numb“.
Das Album wurde später von Alan Parker für das Kino adaptiert, mit Bob Geldof in der Hauptrolle als Pink, einem desillusionierten Rockstar, dessen selbstgewählte Isolation von der Gesellschaft durch eine Mauer symbolisiert wird.

The Wall is the eleventh studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd and is regarded as one of the most acclaimed concept albums of all time. Known as Roger Waters’ rock opera, the album explores themes of abandonment and personal isolation. Featuring the distinctive artwork by Gerald Scarfe, the album includes the singles “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)”, a No. 1 hit in both the UK and the US, as well as “Run Like Hell” and “Comfortably Numb.”
The album was later adapted for cinema by Alan Parker, starring Bob Geldof in the lead role as Pink, a disillusioned rock star whose self imposed isolation from society is symbolized by a wall.
